RACE

RECAP

We are thrilled to share the highlights from the 2024 Europe Triathlon Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Championships.

This year’s event saw over 750 athletes compete in a grueling course featuring 10 kilometers of running, 60 kilometers of cycling, and another 10 kilometers of running.

In the men’s race, Denmark's Simon Jorn Hansen successfully defended his title, finishing first with a time of 2:25:48. He was followed closely by Slovakia’s Ondrej Kubo, who took second place, and France’s Emile Blondel-Hermant, who rounded out the podium in third.

The women’s competition was dominated by Switzerland’s Melanie Maurer, who claimed victory with a time of 2:45:54. Germany’s Merle Brunnée finished second, repeating her position from last year, and Switzerland’s Olivia Keiser secured third place.

The event's course, set through the scenic routes of Alsdorf, provided an excellent viewing experience for spectators, with convenient spots for watching both the running and cycling segments. The atmosphere was vibrant and supportive, particularly around the central monument square, where the start, finish, and transition areas were located.

Additionally, the British Age-Group team delivered an impressive performance, earning twelve medals across various categories.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the athletes who participated and our gratitude to the supporters who made the event memorable. For more details and full results, please visit World Triathlon and Triathlon Today.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next event!
